Retractable Stairs Locks with metal latch

The BOTO01 mortise lock is designed for hatches, attic hatches and retractable ladders. It includes a snap-lock mechanism with a black nylon latch and an opening lever. The plate measures 90x90 mm with a hole spacing of 57 mm.

Assembly instructions:

1. Preparing for opening:

   • Measure and mark the area where the lock will be installed on the hatch or roof hatch, making sure it matches the dimensions of the plate (90x90 mm).
   • Drill an adequate opening to accommodate the mortise lock, ensuring it is centered and aligned correctly.

2. Alignment of fixing holes:

   • Place the lock into the prepared opening and mark the position of the fixing holes on the surface, ensuring that the centre distance is 57 mm.
   • Drill the screw holes at the marked points, using a drill bit appropriate for the material of the hatch or roof hatch.

3. Lock Installation:

   • Insert the lock into the opening, making sure the nylon latch is oriented correctly for the desired opening.
   • Secure the lock using appropriate screws, tightening them until a secure hold is achieved without deforming the plate.

4. Mounting the opening lever:

   • Connect the opening lever to the lock mechanism.
   • Check that the lever works correctly, allowing the latch to open and close easily.

5. Checking the operation:

   • Test the lock by closing and opening the hatch or trap door several times, making sure that the nylon latch engages and releases without impediment.
   • Make any necessary adjustments to ensure optimum operation.
